<3 We're home from England! We're very tired! Here's a page! --Kaja <3
Well. This is unexpected.
...less than a first take suggests.Remember Dr. Mittelmind's observations about alpha sparks? Agatha's now not only a Heterodyne deep within her lair, but one rapidly re-consolidating her traditional family territory -- including the mightiest fortress in Europa plus minions to maintain it. Most of the other sparks in the immediate vicinity will tend to line up as Betas behind an Alpha... with maybe a little squabbling for secondary position.Of course, there's also Klaus. But since Heterodyne's are traditionally crazy, and Bill and Barry were good guys, there's probably a better chance that Agatha would forgive their antics than Baron Klaus "non compellere me illic venturum esse" Wulfenbach will. Thus, they're trying for amnesty from Agatha. It's surprisingly rational, all things considered.>twitch<
I think the second balloon in panel one is pointing the wrong way. And, Agatha is going to end up with a collection of sparks to rival the Barons.
Pity, but you're probably correct.Maybe she would end up with Heroic Repairing Brigade #2 to give von Zinzer's one run for a money?Edited at 2012-08-14 07:10 am (UTC)
Just tell 'em to form a line outside the Castle. The ones who aren't killed off while waiting will be granted asylum.
Very similar things would then Klaus tell to such a line, invade the city and who survives - would be my government in it. And whom would they hear after being humiliatingly dumped ?
Hmm. Didn't we see Igneous earlier? Telling Agatha to marry him? Looks like he's run into some torchmen. These'll be the most powerful of the unruly Sparks, or the craziest. Won't Tarvek have fun trying to keep them all going the same direction.Edited at 2012-08-14 06:06 am (UTC)
HaHA! I LOVE that guy! Rejoice indeed!
i don't.he's ugly!he definitely lacks flowers, fabric bracelets and pacific insignia!
But he's got a giant claw instead of an arm, he speaks in the third person, and he shouts random things. :DPlus he's got a great name.
Thank you for the page, Kaja. Get some rest, guys!
Such words feel super-extra-warm when followed by that avatara :-D
Yes, thanks, Professors...this page was worth the wait! We were starting to get a bit worried... !
I thought I recognized the guy with the claw. And didn't we see Aeroapes earlier, too?
Rejoice? Not yet. These Sparks are only willing to join up with Agatha because they are seeking asylem from the Baron. They know what will happen to them if they are caught by the Baron's troops as they have seen it before with many other Sparks that had broken the Baron's Peace - if not a swift death, then to be the next subject of Klaus' experiments. Remember, he said the Baron didn't even try to capture them alive. They will join Agatha because they believe she will protect them as the new Heterodyne, not out of loyalty to the House, not because she is some kind of "Alpha Spark", or any belief she is in the right. The moment Agatha is out of the picture, or shows she cannot protect them, any desire for asylem will fly out the window, and they will be groveling at the Baron's feet, begging for mercy.Remember folks, Klaus' objective has changed - he is not out to destory the city any more, he (or more likely, Lucrezia) wants Agatha captured alive. A large army of Sparks with their minions and creations, loyal or not, is not the best defence against an effective extraction team (which I assume is already in the city and being lead my no other than Zola herself). In fact, all of those Sparks in one place are more of a liability than an accet at this point.
Zola ? the person every townie saw bragging about her heritage ? That only lacks fireworks and orchestra.Extraction team should be covert for a task you're describing.Ninja like. No one could imagine those were warriors, until they strike and disappear before anyone could understand anything.Well, i can understand your wishing for Gil and Agatha rejoin high in the skies, but that would be hardly a good chance for them now. Also i can no imagine how Zola would work for LuNevka and Klaus, neither from her point, nor from theirs.
now the city IS doomed.baron just must squash all those lunatics, if they're gathering themselves in one single spot! The ship is drowning. One of passengers is furiously praying."Lord, oh Lord, yes, i am a sinner and i deserved it. But there is thousand more people on the deck. You can not murder them all just because of one black sheep!" "One sheep? You can't even imagine how tired i am after these years, finally having brought all of you together!"
Heh, Sparks, like nature, ALSO abhor a vacuum!
Klaus has always accepted surrender in the past, except in the case of truly dangerous sparks like Dr. Dim and Othar. All they would have to do is swear allegiance to the Empire and quite causing trouble and they'd be fine. So why the sudden need to surrender to Agatha?I keep telling you people, Klaus is throwing this battle. Lunevka may be in superficial control of him but she is is tactically and strategically an idiot. He knows it. He is sending powerful allies who he knows Agatha can dominate to her in a deliberate attempt to lose, probably get killed and still keep Gil safe. Watch for upcoming panels where Gil, Punch and Judy, Zoing and probably Boris escape to Der Kestile. There will be a suspicious number of coincidences that allow the escape. Watch for it.
While I accept your idea that Punch, Judy, Zoing, and Boris (and I believe Wooster will have a hand as well) will aid in Gil's escape, it will not be because Klaus is secretly resisting Lunevka. As I stated before, Klaus has no idea that Lunevka is controling him. All the characters you metioned were already in place, so no doubt they will be instumental. However, Klaus wants to keep Gil save... from Agatha, who he sees as the true threat. Aiding Gil, even covertly, in his escape goes against this. Klaus will do everything he can to stop Gil from getting free because he knows Gil will head straignt to Agatha.Plus, I doubt Lucrezia is the tactical idiot you claim she is. Lu is The Other - the force that nearly destroyed Europe with her wasps and hive engines, and did so undetected until the Heterodyne Boys were finally able to pin-point where the attacks were coming from.Lu ia arrogent, but she is no dummy. If she was, she would be no creditable threat, and that would lead to a very boring and short story.
Жалует царь, да не жалует псарь.Klaus himself may be accepting surrenders, that does not warrant that the enemy would have a chance to offer his case to Klaus.Remember von Zinzer. His ship was ready to surrender, but Wulfenbach's forces just disintegrated it. They jsut did not have a chance to declare their surrender to Klaus himself.
You know, I was thinking the same thing, myself.
