Shouldn't it be "aerial bombardment" in the first frame, or am I missing some wordplay, English not being my first language?

area

aka "carpet bombing"

when they does not aim for selected targets, but simply leveling covering everithing in given square

Okay, i am not English-speaking one too, those are just my speculations

This reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask: Girl Genius seems to have quite a few fans who aren't native English speakers. How difficult is it to follow what the Jägers are saying? I would expect that the deliberate misspellings would complicate things ...

No, I think gholam is right. "Area bombardment" is not a phrase you'll normally hear in English. "Aerial bombardment", on the other hand, is. Probably easy to get things mixed up with the misspelling in the comic, though. "Arial" is not a real word, except as the name of a typeface.

Naaah, Barmaglot is correct, it should be 'aerial bombardment'. I guess typos happen when people travel!

Arial bombing refers to the Typesetter Wars.

It does not look like Wulfenbach style.

Re: what the ... King Kong ?

I'm finally reading the 1st novel.

The Other would attack, not just from the sky, but apparently from orbit.

Could orbital platforms have been reactivated.

vonzinzer hmm2

Didn't we see a big flying monkey earlier, in an attack on Castle Wulfenbach? (I'm too lazy to search for the page that showed it.)

Re: what the ... King Kong ?

We've seen those monkeys before - section "Wulfenbach War Room" - it attacks while Boris is talking to Dr. Drama and the officer with the green furry thing on her head. He blames the monkeys on Professor Senear - I suppose that's him now.

Ceiling Lucrezia IS WATCHING YOU

Now all we need is Zola on a flying broom-shaped airship.

I'll get you my pretty, and your little cat too!

A "Vroom-Broom" with sidecar might be marginally more...sparky.

Vroom-Broom. That is a cool name.

But we saw Agatha on one of those already. It was an October edition of the donation wallpaper. She was dressed as a witch on a Sparky flying broom. Krosp was not happy.

King Kong with wings. BRILLIANT! (or is that Donkey Kong?)

What do you want to bet that the flying monkey's operator has been wasped? Or perhaps even the monkey himself?

Posted by: Liz (labelleizzy)
Posted at: August 10th, 2012 07:56 pm (UTC)
mad scientist

doesn't have to have been wasped. Could just be an opportunistic Spark...taking advantage of the chaos in Mechanicsburg.

Posted at: August 10th, 2012 09:11 pm (UTC)

It's Dr. Senear. Last time we saw his work, it was attacking CW. Boris recognized his style. So maybe the Empire isn't actually attacking Mechanixburg at all, yet, and this assault is just a collection of ambitious Sparks trying to either kidnap Agatha or take Mechanixburg as a fortress to use against Klaus.

Or maybe not.
