<3 ZzZzZzZz--Kaja <3
OK, now to Plan B.
I thought this WAS plan B.
Maybe Vole knows how to drive a land strider and so can fly the machine?More girly screams!Get ahold of yourself and start sparking Tarvek.Edited at 2012-03-23 04:53 am (UTC)
Uh-oh.....uh-oh....well, Tarvek, you may not know how to fly this thing but looks like you're about to learn in a hurry. One crash course, coming right up!
'Crash' course being the operative term here? Plus...Vole came through the rotors, it looks like...
Oh ow. Poor Othar! Even if he's seemingly indestructible, Vole landing on him like has to done some serious damage to his shoulder at least! Assuming Vole was nice and landed on said shoulder instead of, you know, his head. Or oh! With the way Othar was standing in the panel before Vole landed he was in a great position for Vole to land on his neck!OUCH! Poor Othar.....
Since Othar doesn't use his head, even if Vole landed on it, I doubt it would do any serious damage.Something tells me that Othar's survivability is totally reliant on pure luck... or at very least the will of the Foglios. Somehow, likely pure out of the blue, Othar will survive this (especially since two other important plot characters are with him). This is made more likely now that Othar is knocked out, as I reason that even Othar doesn't really know how he survives everything he gets into.Personally, at this point, I could see Frank the Dragon, catching them mid-fall, thus saving them. It is as likely as anything else at this point.
Unrelated, but here's a Jaegermonster done in the City of Heroes costume generator: (Click for full)Edited at 2012-03-23 05:05 am (UTC)
Othar is right, the flying machine is working, at least to some extent. It MUST be, because Vole could not have caught up to them if they were in free fall.
It's working by being big...
You don't need serenity, Tarvek. You need to enter Spark Mode. That's what allowed Agatha to freaking disassemble the engine in midair when she was in this situation.
Excellent flying tackle, but your "schneeky" needs work. There was a plan b, right? And possibly c, d, and e?
And this is why Tarvek is a lesser spark than Gil or Agatha.Presented with a challenge in an unfamiliar science, they would simply SPARK THRU IT.Such a high-maintenance fellow he is.
Indeed, but I'm a bit disapointed with that. Oh, well. I guess it is nice to know Kaja made her pet character with at least some flaws. I was beginning to think Tarvek was "perfect".
Is Othar throwing the horns in panel 5? Or is he just trying to shoot some webbing to stop the falling?
Actually, I believe Prof. Foglio was channeling Don Martin when he drew this page. I seem to recall him using that gesture a lot when someone was struck on the head, not to mention the unique sound effects of the flying machine not revving up.
"There's no gasbag!"Yes there is. It's looking right at you, Tarvek.I still think there are too many parts. Gil should've stuck to either rotors or wings. I do like the color scheme.
Actually it has two, and now three that Vole has arrived. Othar, Tarvek, and Vole - three of the biggest gasbags in the entire Girl Genius Universe.
The burning question here is...Tarvek how the HECK do your glasses stay on your face like that? Sheer willpower? Seriously. As a member of the bespectacled community I would like to know :D (also weren't they oval at some point? Not that I mind the square glasses they offset the shape of his face quite nicely and all)
A very tiny teleportation device that whisks them back on his face automatically? I could definitely use that.
Vole's falling-faster-than-another-falling-object physics courtesy of James Bond in Goldeneye.
Actually, that is real world science, too. Has to do with wind resistance on an object. Mythbusters did a segment on this in one of their Hollywood Myths episodes.
Aaaaand the new comedy team of Tarvek, Othar, and Vole is established.I'm looking forward to the seltzer bottles and eye-pokes.Hmm. "KACHAK ACHAKA choff KLONK choff..." must be the timing belt. C'mon Tarvek, just because you're plummeting to your death doesn't mean to can't work a wrench.
Yes! Tarvek glasses action!
Tarvek's glasses become square from fear of flying? o_o
Fear seems to inhibit the spark, doesn't it? Tarvek's having trouble here; and I remember Agatha falling to pieces when Tarvek was dying and Gil having to talk sternly to her about it before she could get into her spark. They were both flummoxed by the nyar spider too.
Anyone would be flummoxed by that thing!*shudders*
