But Klaus has been training Gil, so if anyone can outhink him, it's Gil. Hell of a trial, though!
But I think Gil & Tarvek working together should be a match for Herr Baron. Of course, getting them to actually work together is the trick.
(yes, we have no bananas/we have no bananas today...)

And the Foglios tease us yet again.
So, when will be hear Gil's side of the story? Who knows? Soon, always soon. *Sigh*
But this convinces me more than ever that there was more to it than Tarvek thinks. Perhaps it is not what Tarvek thinks he knows about Gil, but what Gil knows about Tarvek that the "Storm King" can't even imagine. Klaus must have known something about the young Tarvek that he revealed to his son that night.
As to what that is, we can only guess. However, I think Klaus may know Tarvek's true origins - like who his "real" mother is - or something similar along those lines. I'm certain there is more to Tarvek than has been revealed so far, and the Foglios have been very mysterious when asked about who Tarvek's mother is and whether or not she is still alive. After all, she must be important as it is via his mother that Tarvek claims the Storm King's Throne.

<facetious>
And what would revelation about Tarvek would utterly repulse an eight-year-old boy? The fact that Tarvek is really a gurrrlll, of course! Lucrezia and Aaronev gave the poor kid a sparky sex change at birth to ensure the existence of an "appropriate" Storm King heir. This explains Tarvek's innate love of high fashion ... And all of the slashfic writers who have been shipping Gil/Tarvek are in for a big surprise when their dreams come true!

Foolish. Klaus has already set things up to ensure that Gil would be in charge - likely for fear of exactly this situation. By fleeing, they hand the empire over to Lucrezia. All Gil has to do is announce that there is an imposter pretending to be Klaus around, and require that anyone resembling Klaus is to be brought to him.

And there he would looks like he is trying to make a power grab.
Only a handful of people know Gil, that's why he needed the hat. Attempting to go against Klaus for control over Wulfenbach forces is a lost cause.

Tarvek built Anevka's body to obey his orders. I wonder if that's going to come into play at some point.

Maybe, but that seems too easy. Lucrezia didn't trust Tarvek because she knew he had his own agenda. If I were Lu in that situation, I would have checked over my new body the first chance I got, just to make sure there were no "override protocols" that Tarvek could exploit. She already disconnected herself from the "tank" she was dragging behind her, so who knows what other "upgrades" she may have installed?
And even if Tarvek could command her to "stop", all it could do is immobilize her (as we saw with Tarvek's "sister"), but not prevent her from talking. Lu then could still order Klaus to "silence" Tarvek, as I doubt Lu will let her puppet out of her sight. So, he gets only one shot at it.

Well, given how aircraft are carried by dirigibles, it could well be both. ;-)

Hanger bay? As in clothes hangers?
And why on earth are you leaving a wasped Klaus in command? Unless Gil has some contingency plan (and/or eyes and ears on Castle Wulfenbach).

Nope, no contingency plan. Just how on earth do you have a contingency plan for what you would think is an impossible situation? Gil would have no reason to believe that his father could be wasped and controled by The Other as Sparks can't be wasped (except they appearently could back in volume 3).
Simply put, the Foglios need Tarvek and Gil off Castle Wulfenbach so Lucrezia via Klaus can take over the Empire and place Zola in as the Heterodyne. Then, Zola and Klaus can be wed and secure Europe. All of this was revealed in Othar's Twitter, we are just now learning the details of how it came about.

Lucrezia's fishy smile? |

It always makes me chuckle, no idea why. Perhaps it's just too goofy.

O_O Cassie CLARE? 'Very Secret Diaries' Cassie Clare?!? OMG!
AND! Dearly, Departed is written by someone who is a beautiful clockwork girl in Caledon in Second Life. She has just finished her second book, which is currently in editing/pre-publishing phase.
Second panel, I like that picture of Lucrezia and Klaus. And Gil has the right of it, his father can out-think just about everyone, which is what makes him so effective at what he does.
This will be interesting.
